VP GOLFERS ENJOY GLORIOUS CONDITIONS AT SUNNY DUNSTANBURGH

Sunday 2nd October 2022, meet 0930, tees from 1030.
The gusts were less than anticipated & the course in very good condition, especially the superb greens, as 17 enjoyed 18 holes at sunny Embleton. Bacon rolls & coffee preceded 5 tee times from 1030; 3x3 & 2x4 set sail.
Colin Belfield, Phil Ewart & Sam Ewart were followed by Ru Fletcher, Nigel Campbell & Richard Miller, then Chris Harker, David Martin & Peter Crane, James Southern, Angus Southern, Lee Charnley & Alexander Charnley & last off Andy Reeman, James Brown, Alan Dickinson & Duncan Stephen.
The handicapping worked well for the winners on 70 points (best two scores per hole) were Colin, Phil & Sam, followed, in second place on 69, by three groups, Chris, David & Peter, James, Angus, Lee & Alexander & Andy, James, Alan & Duncan & only one point behind on 68 Ru, Nigel & Richard, who had the best inward 9 including a sparkling 7 points on the par 3 15th.
An entirely convivial day ended with soup, a sandwich & chips all masterfully organised by Chris Harker to whom we are, as ever, indebted for making the booking, paying the deposit & sourcing the golf ball prizes.
Welcoming back Andy we hope that James, Angus, Lee, Alexander & Sam, all making their debuts in this event, enjoyed the experience as much as the regulars do, & that future outings may be attractive.
A Spring Outing at Newbiggin on Sun 26th March 2023 is being actively considered.
