The 46-year-old, who is currently Director of Cricket for Footscray-Edgewater Cricket Club in the Victoria Premier Cricket Competition and successful business director/owner of a cricket coaching company (Steve Chapman Cricket Coaching), will be joining the Club at the beginning of May.
The former Durham player will bring a wealth of coaching experience which includes stints with the Durham Academy, Director of Cricket roles with Dandenong Cricket Club and Footscray-Edgewater Cricket Club in Australia and Assistant Coach of Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League.
ECB level III qualified coach, Chapman has 13 years experience of running his own coaching business developing players both young and old from novice to elite level. Working as an ECB Development Coach at the beginning of his coaching career gave him extensive experience working with groups of children in Primary and Secondary Schools.
In his later roles as Director of Cricket for Dandenong and Footscray-Edgewater Cricket Clubs, Chapman has had a key role in coaching, developing and managing 4 senior teams, 4 regional representative teams and the club's Junior Academy. He has also overseen the progression of several junior players through Cricket Victoria pathways into First-Class Cricket.
