SNCC won by 9 wickets.

 

Burnopfield were indebted to Paul McCarthy (37,1x4 3x6) for their total as he targeted the legside boundary with 3x6 at sunny Roseworth Terrace. A fast paced game of 20 x 5 ball sets, allowing bowlers to bowl 10 consecutive deliveries from either end.

 

Steady all round bowling from the Bulls against a youthful side saw the total on 21 after 5 sets for the loss of Cuthbertson(11) caught in the deep by Nathan off Will. 31-2 in set 8 as Scarratt (7) was run out following a direct hit by Albie moving in at mid wicket.

 

Two wickets fell at 38 both to Nathan, Walters (0) skied to gully where Ben Sid made ground to take the catch & then Wood(0) was caught by Jacob at mid wicket, 4 down.

 

McCarthy stood firm & hit 6's to mid wicket but perished at 69 advancing to Lunny & missing for Ben Sid to make the stumping, 69-5 in the 18th set. Two run outs saw Clarke (9) & Nunn (5) perish in the last set, 77 the total.

 

Weetman & McCord  put on 43 for the first wicket before Alex (17) skied Scarratt to cover, Jacob drove straight & he & David Edwards picked off the singles to end the game after 74 balls, Jacob 35* David 16*.

Seaham Harbour 60ao (93b) D Bacon 13, A Stephenson 16*, C Pattison 9, Lo Gustard 8: Nathan Gough 0-11, Abie McPate 5-4, Missy Banks 1-14, Will Young 0-15, George Gray 2-6, James Lunn 2-8.

 

SNCC won by 63 runs.

 

An outstanding three sets from Albie McPate, taking 5-4 including a hat trick, restricted Seaham Harbour to 60 all out after 93 balls. SN won the toss & batted first. 5-1 as Jacob (1) feathered to the w/k in the 2nd set. 22-2 in the 5th as Alex (12) drove high to long off. 

 

David Edwards & Angus Southern (18) showed intent which only ended with a spectacular direct hit run out to the bowler's end from 30 yards, 49-3. David & Nathan then put on 36 for  the 4th wicket before Nathan (7) was caught in the deep. At 90 David (42, 3x4,1x6) perished, caught.

 

George's (2) reverse failed to connect at 97 & at 102 Lunny (4) was caught at long on. At 116 Ben Sid (14) was also caught in the deep. Albie 8* & Missy scampered & the innings closed at 123.

 

Seaham lost Hunter (2) bowled by Albie's leg stump yorker in the second set 9-1. In the 4th Bacon (13) was bowled by Albie, 20-2. Two wickets fell at 33, Gustard (8) was caught by Nathan off George & Marwood (0) was bowled by Lunny.

 

At 50 Pattison was lbw to Lunny, 5 down & then in Albie's third set, from the Park end, he athletically caught a Wilson (0) on follow through, diving to his right to take a firm drive in two hands. With full length deliveries, he then bowled Richards (0) & Rochester (0) to claim a hat trick, a 5 fer & the acclaim of his teammates!! C'est magnifique mes amis!

 

Gustard (1) was bowled by Missy in the 18th set & in the next w/k Lowerson-Marshall was stumped by Ben Sid off George, 60 all out, to round off a comprehensive win by 63 runs. Albie was presented with the match ball !

 

On to the ¼ final on Friday 16th August & an away trip to Ashington. We hope you can be there.
